Tapestry is our online application we use at Little birds to communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress at preschool. We make observations and take photographs to share with you through this secure online program. We also use the observations to progress your child’s learning while at preschool. Parents/carers can also make observations at home to share with us at preschool their child’s learning and achievements at home and communicate with their child’s key person through the application. We have found it an invaluable resource at Little Birds.
We have many sources of communication. We use tapestry to communicate your child’s learning, we regularly post on our Facebook and Instagram accounts and also on our private Facebook parent account which you are able to access only when your child is in attendance.
There is someone to answer phone calls every day while preschool is open and we also liaise via email and messenger with our parents. We have an open door policy which means we are always happy to welcome parents/carers into the preschool for a chat.
We are very lucky to live in such a wonderful place as Swanage and we take advantage of our location by exploring the local area with the children. We take them out to the local days park, down to Swanage beach, for walks to the market to buy produce and to the local allotment where we have a patch on a local residents allotment to grow fruit and vegetables. We also arrange visits to the library, lifeboat station and fire station by prior arrangement. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful area to explore and learn in!
